“…colleges being nothing but grooming schools for the middle-class non-identity which usually finds its perfect expression on the outskirts of the campus in rows of well-to-do houses with lawns and television sets in each living room with everybody looking at the same thing and thinking the thing at the same time while the Japhies of the world go prowling in the wilderness to hear the voice crying in the wilderness, to find the ecstasy of the stars, to find the dark mysterious secret of the origin of faceless wonderless crapulous civilization.”—
“There’s no way to measure his greatness or magnitude as a person or as a player. I don’t think eulogizing will do him justice. He was that great - much more than a superb musician with an uncanny ear and dexterity. He is the very spirit personified of whatever is muddy river country at its core and screams up into the spheres. He really had no equal. To me he wasn’t only a musician and friend, he was more like a big brother who taught and showed me more than he’ll ever know. There are a lot of spaces and advances between the Carter Family, Buddy Holly and, say, Ornette Coleman, a lot of universes, but he filled them all without being a member of any school. His playing was moody, awesome, sophisticated, hypnotic and subtle. There’s no way to convey the loss. It just digs down really deep.”—Dylan on Jerry (via fuckyesgratefuldead)
it would be nice to know you in real life, to see you, to feel you, but i don't. but i wonder i often wonder what you'd feel like and taste like and love like. i am not trying to be sexual or seductive or creepy or what have you. i just---you interest me.
that’s very flattering. i don’t really know what else to say.
“Long-haired lesbians are usually assumed straight until proven otherwise. It may seem like the easy route to take, but often these women have to deal with a lot more than you might expect. They face animosity across the board from people who fail to accept them because they don’t fit the stereotype. Even worse is that they’re often labelled sell-outs to heterosexual ideas of of female beauty by the lesbian community itself.”—
it has nothing to do with long/short hair, but one of my friends was talking to me about how much shit she got at womyn’s fest (i think it was in michigan) because she wasn’t lesbian enough. i could hardly believe it. it’s difficult enough to be openly gay these days, then she has to deal with gay people not even accepting her. just upsets me.
“Have you ever lost yourself in a kiss? I mean pure psychedelic inebriation. Not just lustful petting but transcendental metamorphosis when you became aware that the greatness of this being was breathing into you. Licking the sides and corners of your mouth, like sealing a thousand fleshy envelopes filled with the essence of your passionate being and then opened by the same mouth and delivered back to you, over and over again – the first kiss of the rest of your life. A kiss that confirms that the universe is aligned, that the world’s greatest resource is love, and maybe even that God is a woman. With or without a belief in God, all kisses are metaphors decipherable by allocations of time, circumstance, and understanding.”—Saul Williams (via onehundreddollars)
