“I am so afraid of people’s words.They describe so distinctly everything:
And this they call dog and that they call house,
here the start and there the end.
I worry about their mockery with words,
they know everything, what will be, what was;
no mountain is still miraculous;
and their house and yard lead right up to God.
I want to warn and object: Let the things be!
I enjoy listening to the sound they are making.
But you always touch: and they hush and stand still. That’s how you kill.”—Rainer Maria Rilke (via thisbirdhasflown)
fox news is currently bitching about federal student loan forgiveness. they’re like “we are picking up the tab for their schooling! and ironically, so is the generation after them!”
…i mean, i pay taxes too, dickhead. if federal student loans are paid for by the people, then i’m paying for them myself as well, and i am happy to do so.
and as i listen to them complain about this bullshit, it hits me: huh, it’s almost like there was affordable/free public education.
you know, like how you legally mandated schooling up until age 16. then you socially mandated (rich white people don’t hire people without degrees) higher education. so you’ll pay for the former with your taxes, but you’ll refuse to contribute to something you’re demanding from us?
and going back to the former thing, you pay taxes for public education, but you don’t send your kids to public schools. they’re not good enough. but you also won’t approve increased budgets for public education so that everyone can have access to the quality of education you want for your children. don’t you think a few extra cents on the dollar for everyone is cheaper than the thousands you pay for private schools on your self-entitled shit-headed brats each year anyway?
fuck you guys! really. fuck you guys.
it’s almost as if fox news is made up of a bunch of misguided, ignorant, bile-spewing assholes..
“You realize that people take drugs because it’s the only real personal adventure left to them in their time-constrained, law-and-order, property-lined world. It’s only in drugs or death we’ll see anything new, and death is just too controlling.”—Chuck Palahniuk (via narcotic)
